Car Hire for the 2010 South Africa World Cup

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

With the World Cup just 8 months away most people will wanting to make their travel plans for following their home nation. Although, with the draw for the World Cup group stages not until December 4th in Cape Town many fans are holding fire until they know where their team will be playing. This could create a massive surge in bookings for Car Hire, Hotels, and Flights in December. It is rumoured than some prices will be quadruple the normal amount as demand is expected to easily outstrip supply. As an exercise I searched for the best price to book a car for one week in Cape Town from June 9th to June 16th and there are some very cheap deals to be had. For example a car in the compact class I found for under £150. No doubt come December when the bookings start rolling in these prices are likely to climb considerably. With South Africa being so vast and the matches are being played all over the country from Pretoria down to Cape Town. There will be some very long drives, albeit extremely scenic, if you intend on going to many of the diffrent cities holding World Cup games. The other alternative is to take advantage of South Africas budget intenal airlines although budget is unlikely to be the operative word for the World Cup month. Whatever happens South Africa are certain to put on an excellent show in what is an amazing country. In between games there is so much to see throughout the country. After December 4th after the draw has been made we will be listing the best Car Hire deals that we can find. The map below the cities where the matches are scheduled to be played.
